Background
A FA Cup fixture between non-league sides Sleaford Town and Huntingdon Town was abandoned on Saturday following a mass brawl between players. This incident made News at Ten, so your intrepid reporter visited Huntingdon FC to investigate and this is what I've found for you readers:
Sleaford were leading 2-1 in the first qualifying round when a Huntingdon player was sent off in the 87th minute following an altercation with a member of the hosts' management team.
That led to players from both sides clashing.
"Everyone dived in," said Huntingdon club secretary Russell Yezek.
"Our player was trying to take a long throw-in but the Sleaford manager walked
across his path.
"He did it again and our player turned and pushed the ball into him."
The match referee has filed his report on the game to the Football Association, who have decided to remove both clubs from this years FA Cup competition.
The only possible strand of evidence I could find relating to the incident, was the broken signage below. Maybe one of the dismissed footballers boots accidentally went through it when he was exiting the pitch - we will never know. It was definitely a case of "no name no pack" drill on my visit to Jubilee Park.
All things considered it appears that Jubilee Park is a rather dangerous place to watch a game of football, in addition to the "punch ups" you may also be hit by a wayward from one of the local archers - could be Jeffrey?
The way into the ground .....
or it could easily be the local allotments.
One of the main attractions at Jubilee Park is the "huge" clubhouse.
Where happy hoppers can spent hours pouring over the match day programme
A few pictures of the ground and it's football furniture
That's all folks!!
