Sheerien Park is easy too miss, it is tucked away between some local dwellings. In fact the welcome sign is attached to the side of a house, it was a good top local hoppers "Graeme and Toffee Girl" were on board to navigate the way to the ground. They've only visited the ground twenty two times this season ! Athersely are clearly a club on the up, everything you see at the ground was raised by the club itself - although they did have some assistance from former Athersley, Birmingham and WBA striker Geoff Horsfield. Geoff kindly put up half the cost of buying the lease. The club are new to the league, following last seasons promotion form the Sheffield and Hallamshire County.
This was one of the coldest nights on the hop, so much so, the mascots were penguins.
Athersley brand new "at cost" stand.
Local hoppers tuck into their Italian Stew made in Barnsley.
One of the club's many porta kabins.
Are you watching Spurs - now this is how you take a penalty.
Sorry folks, no more pictures on this one - it was so cold my camera "froze" - yes that's right "freeze frame".
