Three interesting Wealdstone facts

In 1984/85 season, the Club became the first of only three clubs so far to achieve the non-league “double” of winning the Football Conference and FA Trophy in the same season. Colchester United (1992) and Wycombe Wanderers (1993) are the other two.

In 2004, Wealdstone Football Club began work on a new stadium on the 44-acre site in             Edgware known as the "Hive", but their project collapsed when external financial backers stepped away from the project a year later. The half-built stadium fell into disrepair and the site remained derelict and unused until Barnet FC came to the rescue and proposed a training centre, youth academy, and football facilities which would be open to the public. So after spending a substantial amount on the new development, they walked away with nothing whilst Barnet obtained a new ground on the "cheap". Wealdstone are still on the hunt for a permanent home.

Stuart Pearce, Vincent Jones and Jermaine Beckford began their careers at Wealdstone FC.

                            Tropic at Ruislip sounds nice??
